Abstract
62 cases of histologically comfirmed malignant lymphoma were observed according to
age and sex distribution, histological incidence, sites of lymphnode swelling, subjective
symptoms and blood pictures.
The results were as follows:
1) Age distribution was very extensive but disclosed peak level to be in the third and
fourth decades(42.8%).
Sex ratio showed predominance in male with male to female ratio of about 1.6 : 1.
2) As to varied histological pattern, incidence of cymphosarcoma was noted to be high
and was occupying 51.8% of total cases in contrast to low incidence of Hodgkin's
disease (16.1%). This pattern of incidence was compatible with other reports in Korea.
The difference in histological pattern comparing with those reperted from other countries
might be reflecting geographical and racial difference. The Hodgkin's discase was seen
in older ages compared with Iyrmphosarcoma group.
3) The most frequently affected sites were neck and most common extra nodal sites
were nasopharynx.
84% of all cases showed palpable Iymphnodes.
4) All patients had constitutional symptoms such as fever, lassitude and pain.
